A Pediatrician's Opioid Horror Story, with a Cannabis Red Herring

She'll have your king before your chair is warm.

Here's how we know: we read her story "I’m A Pro-Marijuana Pediatrician But I Have A Dark Reason For Taking This Stance" in today's Huffington Post.

Here's the real skinny: its a cry for ammunition from a front line commander... but the bad guys in this war caper are not cancer-stricken kids but their smack-sick parents who will do anything for opioids - legal and promoted by billions of dollars of pharma-marketing.

Here's a taste:

"A mother once threatened to punch me for refusing to prescribe more Dilaudid for her child. She later threatened to get a gun from her car."

By the way, Julie Kim is Dr. Julie Kim PhD, a pediatric hematologist and oncologist and associate professor at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. (Geisel, as in Dr. Seuss, but you knew that...)
